Dafuq! I got the connection a couple of weeks ago with 100 mbps plan 899 and it was okay-ish. Today, just now tried a speedtest and got this result w00t! Anyone know what's going on?

@vishalrao Best way to do this type of Test is either on Cloudflare Servers or Google DNS Servers.
Speedtest.net will always provide you server which will give higher speed with incorrect measures. So, Try it on speed.cloudflare.com or fiber.google.com/speedtest/

@Protector CF showing over 500 mbps and the Google fiber test link picks Jio Nagpur server and showing over 800 mbps but I noticed it has the Ookla Speedtest logo so probably the same as speedtest.net

I also tried single and multi connection tests to EU locations - getting around 200-300 single and (on some not all servers) over 700 there too.

Also tried downloading from some Ubuntu mirrors in EU locations like DE, SE and FR getting similar results - 200-300 single and over 800 multi connection.

And yep it's back down to 100 now

At least I caught it while it was glitching and it shows 1gbit is feasible (at least technically) on my installation/location, nevermind tower congestion during busy hours etc.

I have a theory for this sudden speed cap removal for a few mins. It might be possible that Jio was upgrading the firmware on your router and to ensure that you don't notice any slowdown in your subscribed plan speed (100mbps), they removed the cap to act as speed buffer while the router downloaded the updated firmware in the background. Try checking firmware version....its all just a theory though..

Mine has been down for 9 days now.
When i raised the ticket, the call was assigned to a Service engineer who never turned up.
Since thenm I have made multiple phone calls, spoke to the escalation PoC couple of times.. The end result is the same.
The same person is assigned with a new time slot and he never turns up.

The router is so tightly locked that one cant even see the RSSI/ SnR , let alone do any kind of troubleshooting so have no other choice but to wait till the Jio Gods finally smile upon me.
Cant even get a refund - asking for that is greeted by utter silence.

The only saving grace for me that its a backup connection but I would not recommend Jio at all to any one

@itsmesid That didn't work unfortunately.

Wit the ODU plugged into the PoE unit, I tried using the data port on a laptop (the cable/port that goes into the indoor unit) but the client shows the network cable as unplugged.

I managed to obtain the mail id for RIL fiber head and another sr manager at RIL and sent them a note on Thursday
After this, I finally got a call from the on-ground team on Friday. They visited but could not resolve the issue stating they need to open a back end ticket.

This was on Friday and nothing else seems to happened since then 😁
