i got my jio 4g with lyf flame 1 mobile for Rs. 6000 on 27th may 2016 (purchased on 25th activated on 27th)

experience on day 1 and 2 :
- 2-3 singnal bars out of 4 (indors)
- speeds around 40 mbps on torrents
- no lag on youtube 4k videos
- used about 200 gb of data
- sim is phone locked
- phone looks decent but performance wise useless
- internet speed slows down sometimes while travelling (could be due to cell tower change, fixed on restart)

experience on day 3,4 and 5 :
- speeds reduced to 2 mbps
- will spike to 5 mbps for sometime and then again goes back to 2 mbps
- phone cant hold charge/ wont charge while hotspot on and background 4g usage (connected to 1 and 2amp charger)
- constant lag/ buffering on hd youtube videos

overall experience is very bad considering i paid 6k for 3 months unlimited internet.

It may not be throttling. Your cell tower may have had high load because many other Jio users (like you) on free 3 month offer must have been downloading simultaneously. Try again after some time or check speed at different area.

There are network issues causing speed fluctuations in my area also. Try using your sim in a different LYF handset if the issue persists or call jio customer care.

I do not think its throttling. In my house, I receive 20mbps, but yesterday started receiving 30mbps. While in office, I used to receive 25mbps on JIO, now only getting 10mbps.

after using airtel 4g since its launch i can say that jio 4g is very bad experience and totally unreliable when compared to airtel.
i been using airtel 30 gb plan for Rs.2000
when i got jio 4g i changed airtel to 3gb for Rs.600.
jio totally failed for me
Is there any customer care number where i can complaint

Did you check band? Which band your phone is using while its 5mbps speed? Is it band 40(2300mhz) or band3,5(850,1800mhz). If you are on band 2300mhz and you still getting only 5mbps speed then there is some problem.

Everything depends on location network strength etc.
I have disconnecetd my broadband connection till the free data offer from Jio is in place.

The speeds I gate are:
Operator: up/down Mbps)
Airtel: 7.72/7.59
Vodafone: 12.25/4.69
Jio: 32.18/6.90
My ISP: 49.86/49.99

All at the same place at the same time, to the same Speedtest server.

Open this link in mobile : Jio Appstore (App will not display in pc browser so open it via mobile)
Download netveleocity app (green) enterprise version. Click on + sing on bottom right corner and then RF information and check weather you are on 2300mhz band or not.
