Yes, I did. Reactivated my Airtel Fibre account. They gave me an irresistible offer.

One more feedack: I played “See” on Apple TV plus through 4K firestick this morning. It was buffering badly on Jio Fiber even with 300mbps (still awaiting deactivation) and running butter smooth with Airtel Fibre 100mbps (yes, I do have a static IP address with Airtel bought separately).

Jio Fiber doesn’t provide static IP address. So a lot is fishy or so it seems. Please don’t criticize me /shoot the messenger. I felt bad and awkward last time.

Going through a reputed VPN site, I read that IPv6 is not considered safe and is vulnerable to exposure/block while using a VPN while IPv4 is quite safe. While setting up a dedicated DNS, it is recommended to disable IPv6 in properties.

Just saying: Static IP has nothing to do with the Routing.

Overall, If your area has Airtel Fiber? You seriously don't need JioFiber. :)

If you don't know, you can take 299 Rs. Pack from Airtel now and enjoy 3 TB of Data.

I am told that if one has a static IP address the service provider can’t play with committed bandwidth. Also, with a static IP address you can set your own DNS.

i know about INR 299 pack.

  • Stability– In case of applications such as authenticated services on web servers and file downloads the connection should be stable. In static IP a small interruption in the connection usually does not terminate the packet exchange with the service.
  • Hosting– Since there is no change of IP address, this is suitable for applications which use Voice over Internet Protocol (VOIP),gaming applications, and Virtual Private Network(VPN).
  • Preferred address for servers– Static IP addresses is ideal if your computer acts as a server. The reason is it gives your file server relatively faster file uploads and downloads.
  • Convenient remote access– When you remotely connect to a computer you need not worry about the changes in the IP address during the connected session. Also when you connect to your computer through applications such as remote desktop, you need not be bothered about losing the IP address.
  • Reduced down time– The IP never resets. In other words your computer need not send any request for renewal. This makes it an ideal choice for seamless connectivity.
