It seems with firmware upgrade to R1.192

  1. users cant access to WAN settings
  2. there is no option to disable ipv6 all together.
  3. ipv6 DNS is till enforce even if ipv6 dhcp mode set to none.

please can anyone confirm this?

The whole router is rigged, I want original firmware without update! The admin default user cannot be changed to guest group and it can be reset remotely to old admin settings, the whole router can be reset to old saved settings remotely so I am unable to secure it. When SSID broadcast is disabled, it works much better, and also changing the password often, however, they reset back to the old settings like I never changed any settings. I want to thow away this junk router, or set it to original manufacturer firmware!

The Jio network of apps can control the modem, it can reset to a previous image, when I was binge watching, my network was frequently interrupted. These are some of the settings Jio Cinema bing watching did:

1. Stops playback by disconnecting devices
2. Resets modem security measures that are applied.
3. Does not allow the default user admin to be deleted or moved to guest with lesser privileges and replaced with another user with admin privilege.

I added a new admin user, changed admin password, and disabled all WIFI SSID broadcast.
After 30 min its reset back to old settings, the new admin user disappeared, and the old admin password is set, so there is an image of the router settings somewhere that is applied back everytime. This is hijacking our network, safer to move away from Jio Fiber, given that they are trying to control every setting in our private network.

The reasons I choose Jio was
a) Decent speed without interruption.
b) Connect your drives to the router so you can have network fileshare (disabled)
c) Connect your printer to the router for networked printing (disabled)
d) Uninterrupted service and no nosy business of controlling my router remotely!

I don't think the earlier firmware was capable of resetting the image of the router, I want that version or I'm throwing out this company forever, already out of their mobile plan, cannot have companies that engage in nefarious activities.

Hi! Today my Jio router updated and asked for a new password but the password was not getting accepted. So I reseted the router and now I can't even change the default jiocentrum password! Based on the message I think they forgot a form filed to retype the password. Now I can't even turn off the default wifi or change the dns settings to my pihole. Here are the screenshots

@Mr Gru There is a restriction on what words you can use in a new password. You can't use any of the following words - jio, ril, reliance, rjil, jiocentrum

If your password has any of those words, it will fail to validate. Its not new, its been there for quite some time.

Finally, I got a bunch of previous firmware images and sigs for my JFHG JCOW404 starting from R1.3, tried to flash all of them one by one, but none of them worked surprisingly a message comes up after 12% of the upgradation process saying "Firmware file is invalid or corrupt" are they blocking firmware downgrades now?

My ONT is at R3.7 and honestly it's not even usable atp, the SSIDs share 2.4/5GHz band and my devices keep getting reconnected, Zoom calls drop all the time, VPN keep on getting reconnected, they have removed the option to change anything in the Wifi section, you cannot even rename your SSID from the LMUI, it's just so stupid, even the Reboot option and BAckup/Restore option is also gone, apparently through which we could get Root access to the ONT, enable Bridge mode, and even disable TR069 which could stop automatic updates, which is not possible now.

@hacked2.57 Not able to attach it, as it says exceeding 1000 chars.

Interesting, I saw the page for Factory reset is "flashErase.html" when I try to hit it, throws 401 and logs me out. same with backupRestore.html but that portion is commented out.

UPDATE: I found a workaround i.e. I edited the link in view source and I can access the backup/restore page now...
