For JioFiber Preview subscribers in Mumbai, which are the best available options after Jio starts charging for their internet services? Somehow, Hyderabad seems to get the best internet plans, while Mumbai gets the short end of the stick. For a user consuming between 250-300GB/month, I have listed the following options:

1) continue with JioFiber and select the Silver plan, and limit usage a bit (or opt for annual plan with double data if needed)

2) Tata Sky Broadband - 100Mbps 250GB plan at 900 per month + taxes

3) Hathway - not sure, but i think that their plans vary according to area

4) Airtel broadband - 999 per month + taxes (seems more expensive, but they give Amazon Prime subscription for a year, along with 3 months Netflix)

5) MTNL broadband - 800 per month + taxes for 200GB at 100Mbps seems attractive

6) Others - You Broadband and One Broadband - I don't know if they are reliable or if their plans are as attractive

I think I have covered most of the options for people in Mumbai. Would love if JioFiber Preview users from Mumbai weigh in if I have missed any other options or to comment in general. I think for people in Hyderabad, there are excellent options for almost unlimited internet. For Mumbai, JioFiber still seems a good bet.

Any comments?

But do you still see the 100 gb free preview offer listed in the recharge plans ? I am not asking about the queued up plans, but the ones that show up in the list of recharge plans.

I was assuming that this is the last free preview offer for everyone. I am not able to see any 100 gb free preview offer now, it shows only paid plans. And I was told by cc that this is my last preview month.
Ok so now today I checked again and boom I now see paid plans only but 40 GB top up(which does nothing for me) is still there. Also I had three 100GB recharges queued up they have been removed as well. I am applying for disconnection.

I am able to see 100GB recharge option. Previously, I had queued up a few 100GB recharges, which have disappeared. Now, on the MyJio app, I saw a notification saying that my plan was about to expire in 5 days, and there was a recharge button next to it. On clicking that, I was able to see the usual 100GB recharge option, which got recharged successfully (I received the usual email as well).

Maybe recheck when your plan is about to expire. The 100GB recharge option may turn up.

Yes for me also plans are visible now. I had 5 100gb plans in que all of them removed. Looks like December is the last free preview month.

So after your queued up plan gets activated in 5 days , you may get migrated to paid plan just like me. That’s when the free preview offer will disappear and they will ask you to choose a paid plan.

Very well covered , thank you.

In Mumbai, almost all LCO provide fast and cheap broadband services but reliability is a issue. So if someone is looking for a cheaper option, LCO is good.

MTNL has decent net too, works well with streaming apps and they keep adding promos for extra data.

In my area, airtel and Hathaway are not there. So jiofiber for 1000/- per month with 200+200 gb data , landline , OTT premium apps seems like a good option IMO. Airtel and Tatasky (never knew they give broadband too) may cost the same but with less features.

My Location : Navi Mumbai.

I've been using Jio Fiber for past few months and now my free preview has ended (I reside in Bangalore btw). Here are things I know :
1. Got SMS regarding set-top box being delivered home.
2. Yesterday night my internet didn't use the free 100GB data vouchers I had activated and my speed is at 1Mbps.
3. Today morning I could see the plans displayed on recharge section. Something interesting I noticed was a "combo plan" 199/- which is 235/- including GST (1000GB data at 100mbps, valid for seven days).
4. I recharged for the 199 plan but it isn't activated yet and it's under upcoming plans in "My plans" section. Jio CC says it will be activated from midnight and also a base plan isn't required to activate the combo plans. (in case somebody is curious) as told by Jio CC.
5. Jio CC also clarified that Set top box apps will use internet data which comes with the plan. Set top box is free and will be given only to customers who opt for plans (doesn't include combo 199 plan).
