Reliance Jio now sending messages about automatic upgrade to new Truly Unlimited Fiber Plans

Yes I know this, that the new Gold plan is somewhat costlier than the previous Silver plan, but here my concern is that old customers should get complete upgradation so that they will be benefited of paying for longer duration.
Also they should give some relaxation in price under the new plans if a user opts for long duration.

@aayush31 If I had a choice, I would much rather have ₹849 plan forever instead of ₹999 plan with only Amazon prime as additional benefit. I think most people with long term silver plan will be happy. The only thing is, it could've been even better had they opted for 2 month extra instead of double data which is useless now. The cake is actually nice even without the icing.

They will update the long term plans by 5th September mostly.

I own a annual silver plan. Just today I received a msg from Jio that my plan will be upgraded to unlimited 150 Mbps with Upload = Download speed from 5th September.

But don't you think, those users who have opted for extra 200 GB on yearly subscription rather than the speaker or 2 months extra..would be at lose

You are correct. If you have already redeemed the long term voucher by opting for extra data then its a loss. You can try contacting customer care regarding this or send them a mail.
Even I recharged with a silver semi-annual plan few weeks back and got the long term benefit multi-purpose voucher. But I haven't redeemed that yet and its still available in the vouchers section. So I can opt for an extra month with that voucher instead of extra data now.

Thats a good point! I wanted to know if the extra month coupon is redeemed, then is it applicable immediatey in the next month or an the end of the plan irrespective of when it is redeemed? If it is activated immediately when the plan is ongoing then it would be wasted.

The extra month plan will start once your long term plan expires irrespective of when you redeem it. Till then it will be in queue.
But it is advisable to redeem it only when your long term plan is about to expire. In case some technical issue happens and your extra month plan gets activated immediately and long term plan goes away.

Currently I'm paying 1533 including GST for gold 250mbps plan . I think after the upgrade to 300mbps, from the next month; after current plan expiration, we will have to pay more ~1770 , Have you guys checked??

Cc told me that we should not activate extra month voucher. It will automatically get activated if we have not redeemed the extra data voucher, and when the validity of long term plan ends. There is no benefit to the old Silver plan users especially who paid for 3, 6 or 12 months. The users somehow will be at loss. There isn't much difference between 100 Mbps and 150 Mbps. Jio should have provided all 11 OTT app subscription instead of just 10, that's the true meaning of upgradation.

Your statement cannot be generalized. I am a silver plan user with 6 month validity and I am very happy with the upgrade. I am getting all the benefits of the new gold plan in a lesser price. My Amazon prime is paid separately for a year so there’s nothing that I am losing out by not being on the new actual gold plan. Infact I was tempted to do another 6month recharge but I am sure they will come up with New long term plans with some additional benefits, so I’ll wait.

I was also worried about that. I was thinking about redeeming the voucher for 1 extra month before 5th September in case they remove it. But then I thought, that is more risky. Because currently their system is unstable with these new plans and upgrading old customers and all. If something happens and that 1 month plan overrides the 6 month plan then it will be a problem. So I decided to not do anything and wait.
Hopefully they won't remove the multipurpose voucher.
