Same what happens to Airtel and Vodafone when there is no 2G.

You will get No service in your handset. But 850 Mhz Band 5 of Jio is more resilient and has slightly better coverage than 900 Mhz 2G/3G bands of others.

Sinilarly, 700 Mhz will have supreme coverage in upcoming auctions.

Which "band" will this 700 mhz come under? I see bands 12, 17 and 28 all listed as 700 mhz in MS Lumia 950 specs page for example... and for Lumia 650 it only lists as band 28. So hope it's not another round of unsupported phones needing new phones to be bought again.

The Band number will be decided later. Depending on the type of implementation and ease of procuring/upgrading existing towers .
