Reliance Jio Television

Looks like everyone is busy with 4G and broadband plans and didn't notice the Jio Televsion service in the Employee launch video, did anybody notice that Reliance Jio was using an Nvidia shield console as set-top box for their Jio TV? this is the video i am talking about:

Speeds upto 1 Gbps. If executed perfectly it would become Google Fiber of India.

1 Gbps without FUP for 4.7K would be a great deal for a country like India. At least a few can share and use.

@manu1991 there is a basic plan too Plans and Pricing – Kansas City – Google Fiber pay installment of $25*12 and enjoy free services for 7yrs 5mbps download and 1mbps upload. and yes there are lots of people who can pay 4.7K for 1Gbps plans specially small offices or those who work from home. It is much better than corporate plans that are being offered currently.
4.7K can be shared between 4people who live in same flat

Looking at the video, they look to be planning to have Android TV consoles as set top boxes, which is a good thing. They can be multipurpose entertainment consoles with games and Kodi and torrents .

They could possibly be offering Nvidia Shield as a highend console (one with 500GB storage ) as a STB with PVR. There could be cheaper options liek Nexus Player
which would not have recording and only stream content.

This looks super cool to me. Another reason to switch to Jio Fibre , if and when it becomes available.
