ALTBalaji, the over-the-top video content provider on Thursday said that it has signed a deal with Reliance Jio to make available its original content on the Mukesh Ambani-led telco's digital platforms such as Jio Cinema and Jio
TV. The announcement follows Jio's parent Reliance Industries Limited's acquisition of 24.9% stake in Balaji Telefilms, the parent of ALTBalaji, for Rs 413 crore.
ALTBalaji said that Jio’s established user base of over 160 million will help the OTT player to strengthen the distribution of its content. With over 11 million mobile app downloads and more than 2 million web viewers, ALTBalaji is available in over 90 countries and caters to the need of Indian consumers and Indian diaspora spread across the globe.
