Right. These packages are practically a scam largely because texting on WhatsApp like apps consume little to no data. The incentive for mobile companies is that you turn on data on your phone only to realize that the other apps on the phone would start consuming bandwidth almost immediately making them good enough money in a short period of time.
 
That might not work. Blackberry 10 devices I hear work like Androids when it comes to data charges. Older BBs I believe require special plans. You would probably have more info than me on this :D
