Hey Folks,

I want to add a Reverse DNS ptr record for a static ip taken for my office internet plan, does airtel offer this, since this is needed for email server of cPanel.

Regards

Yeah I have asked, they don't even know what a PTR is. They won't support it for their residential plans

For residential plans, that's not unusual to deny such requests, even if they know about PTR. For office internet plan and on enterprise plans too, I guess Airtel wouldn't budge. PTR is traditionally available (to configure) on a web host. Since, office internet offers only internet and not hosting, I don't think Airtel would fulfill a PTR request.

Anyway, Airtel offers hosting infrastructure too. Ref: Airtel Cloud Solutions - Experience Better Cloud-based Services . Specifically, Airtel seems to have a tie-up with Vultr (or vice versa) for its hosting business. I have used Vultr in the past. Vultr offers PTR configuration. Ref: Airtel Vultr and https://www.vultr.com/docs/how-to-create-reverse-dns-or-ptr-records-in-the-vultr-control-panel/

Yeah but that is a completely different service. I don't think they will doing anything for PTR here
