We had a thread with discussion about buying and using pirated softwares/games.
Yeah, most people do pay like as in Steam, Buy, Download, Play.
one should never pirate multiplayer games even if they don't have much cash . how many good multiplayer games come out on all gaming platforms combined ? 2-3 in a whole year . even if the game is single player only but a great single player , try an hour of it through demo and buy it . PC games are already very cheap in india (all under 1500) . if the game is not available, buy it on steam when price drops to $40 . i have met many people(non-pirates) who don't buy consoles as game are too costly . even i bought PS3 after 2 of my friends agreed to share expenditure on games . how many teenagers have friends who will share cost of games with their friends ? $40 is a great price for games . they still would make nice profit if games are good even if they sell half as many copies as just the pre-orders on COD games . there are very few gamers on steam who buy a game every 3-4 weeks . problem is companies know that selling 1000 copies for $60 is better than selling 1700 copies on $40 as people who buy games @ $60 will most likely pay for future DLCs each costing $15 and there are 2-3 DLCs on every game . sometimes DLCs are just require a code to be unlocked and it was already on the disc when it was shipped just like catwoman DLC on arkham city . just beacuse a lot of people are paying $60 for a game doesn't make the pricing right .
