Rupashi bangla is now available on dishtv on channel 857 just after star ananda.its good news for bengali subscribers.dishtv rocks

Oh wow...Thats a great news...! So now Dish TV is once again the only DTH which has the max Bengali chs..!

Yes That's really a good news for all dishtv Subscribers specially for all bengla viewers and good is that now dishtv will have almost all the good bangla channels and have max bangla channel on their platform

Realy that is this is a good news for me and all bengla viewers. There are other many satellite channel must to be added this platform like

1.Sangeet Bangla ( OpenDNS )- Only One Bengali Music Channel
2. Channel 8 (aath) ( Aath )-Only One Bengali Movie Channel- Now merge with Sony or SET
3.TARA News- Bengali News Channel ( TaraTV)
4.TARA Music- Bengali Music Channel (Tara Music Company the home of Irish Trad Music and Celtic Music)
5. Kolkata TV -Bengali News Channel

Bengali is the 7th most Spoken Languages in the World. ( see the list The Top 10 Languages Spoken in the World ). Now only 7 channels have this platform including
1.Rupashi bangla
2. Zee bangla
3. Star Jalsa
4. Star Ananda
5. 24 Ghanta
6. DD Bangla
7. ETV Bangla

Tamil Telugu viewers enjoying more than seven channels. Please dont neglect Bengali viwers.:frown:

bengali might be one of the seven most popular languages of the world... but the dth operators are not catering to the world. and in the end, there are going to be a limited number of bengali channels on offer. and then there is limited space on the transponders.

I don't know about limited space on the transponders issue regarding bengali ch. But i personally survey to bengali viewers Kolkata to North Bengal , Assam to Agartala. Most of the case they want not shifted to dth because they can watch all favourite bengali ch of Rs. 100/-. ha ha ha.....:D

that is another point. if you are happy with your cable guy... why would you bother to shift to DTH? i would have never shifted to IPTV in the first place if my local cable guy was interested in providing usable services to me.

@Jayan,You missed out Aakash Bangla which is also included in the Dish TV platform which totals to 8 Bengali chs on Dish TV.@Admin,I was expecting a more sensible and wise comment from your end. I do understand the fact that DTH operators do not cater on a world wide level, but coming to Dish TV, I think we can expect more regional chs since it focuses more on regional content. And you just can't say that there is going to be a limited no of Bengali chs..! If that is the case, then Dish TV should stop adding South chs which they have been doing for the past 2 years. [Though I appreciate that fact and do not want a North-South divide here]. Its just that all regional space should get equal importance...!

south channels vs. bangla channels.

south has several languages... tamil telegu malyalam and what not!

and dth companies have to cater to the entire india...

that means if you decide to offer one channel, it is offered all around the country.

and that channel consumes the space on the transponder.

i guess in the end you have to see which channel has a largest potential customer base.
