Hi members I am new here. I am using Tata Sky currently and I am planning to switch to SUN DTH. I would like to get an answer for my questions i.e. 1. Is it possible to use the same dish for both the services or both are using different satellites for receiving signals?2. Is it possible to use the settop box of TATASKY for any other DTH by removing the card or resetting some thing inside in the hardware or removing some pin from inside the device?Waiting for valuable comments from the members...CheersRaj

1.same dish can be used for 2 or more services. You may need to change the directions its pointing at and/or get a new LNB or STB receiver though

2.Doing something like this will void the TATASKY warranty, you will get a dead STB for keeps
and its not gonna help you much as most FTA channels are screening programmes most people wont pay and watch
(some people say south indian FTA are better than most pay channel content, I dont watch so i cant comment)

If you are looking for a FTA(Free To Air) receiver you can get a DD+ or other FTA reciever+stb+lnb+dish for below Rs.1500 from Lamington Road in Mumbai or its equivalent Electronics bazaar streets in Chennai,Banglore or Delhi
More sensible than screwing with ur TATASKY stb

DD DTH dish's direction will be same as SUN DTH as both are on same satellite.

u cant receive paid channels over C-band even if u have big dish. they are encrypted and u need card just like u need card to receive channels on DTH.

Hello "simplymalayalee",

I hope you are a Malayalee... thats not my question. Could you tell me what are the things you done to get DD DTH using Tata Sky devices?

1. Have you removed the DIGI CARD inside the receiver?
2. Or you configured the set top box for any other satellite?

Please let me know so I can check the same ?

Thank you.
Regards.
Raj...
