Samsung Android Device Owners: Samsung Account backs up contacts on the phone?

I assume that all Samsung Android device users create a Samsung account. Does it backup contacts on their own servers?

To the best of my knowledge, no. Samsung account is needed to avail various Samsung apps and services.

Not necessary to make a Samsung Account unless you use the Samsung Store, the normal Google Android Account is enough for playstore.

Right. So if you have not opted to save your contacts on Google Contacts, they are just being saved locally? Samsung does not offer to save them on your Samsung account? Someone lost their Android phone. Contacts were not stored on Google Contacts. I just wanted to know if Samsung Account was a possibility assuming it has an option to backup your contacts on their servers.

I don't think so Samsung back up contacts, never tried it on Android so not sure, I did have to create a Samsung Account on the Bada device, but that never backed up contacts, was only used for the Bada app store.
