why? 350 was a heavily discounted price after six months of launch. google has traditionally sold the nexus phones for around 500 dollars.

you can subsidize the cost of the tablet pc because they are heavily used for consuming media content that can generate money for you at a later stage. but phones? not so much. i expect it to be sold at similar prices to older nexus devices. between 500-550 dollars which is still very good compared to unlocked prices of the iPhone 5 and other models. Galaxy s iii sells for 650 dollars for the unlocked edition i think in usa. the interesting thing would be if they would continue to sell galaxy nexus and even lower the price. that could become a pretty vfm purchase considering it is still better than 80% of devices that are launched in the market today.but yeah. it would be cool if they launch it for 350 dollars though i think it is very unlikely looking at the general pricing of smartphones in the us market.

You are right about content oriented market dynamics for tablets but they are giving 5 mp cam instead of 8. No sd card slot and CPU is at 1.2 GHZ omap instead of Snapdragon. So I think they have the margins to price it at discounted price.

Would not make much of a difference considering the smartphone market in USA is a contract based one. There is no incentive in selling smartphones at low margins because they still would not sell well. You would just hurt your own profitability. :-D
