Instead of Tizen, Samsung should have tried like Amazon or Nokia by creating Android based OS. Samsung already has their Android apps which they can run on their customised OS
Samsung TouchWiz is already pretty much a fork with support for Google Play Services. Losing support for Google Play hurts them more than benefit them.
As members of the Open Handset Alliance (which include the majority of Android OEMs) are contractually forbidden to produce Android devices based on forks of the OS, Kindle Fire tablets are manufactured by Quanta Computer, who is not an OHA member.
Google has done a good job with Play Services... Sure you can use Nokia Here for maps and other applications... In the end, you lose out on the market of users who are hooked to Google branded services.
