SBI FBB Credit Card

I have an SBI FBB card which has the lowest credit limit compared to other cards I have. Since the Big Bazaar stores are closed, I don't even have the use for it. I have it for about 4 years now, maybe over 4 years and so far the limit is still pretty low. I don't really want to contact customer care and ask them to increase it.

If I apply for a different SBI card, what are the chances I would get a high credit limit?

Chances are they will share the limit between both the cards, they will not give you the separate limit on the new card.
I have two SBI CC, and they have approved my 2nd card by deducting the limit from my existing card, with no new separate limit.

I have an SBI savings account which is now inoperative and always had the minimum average balance required. I wonder if that has prevented them from increasing my limit. This is actually frustrating.

My FBB SBI Card is going to expire on 01/2023.

I have not received any notification for it to be automatically renewed, and I have about 3k in excess on this card.

I wanted to make an EMI purchase on Flipkart, as there's a flat 10% offer, but as the card will expire next month, I am confused how it will happen. Also, my FBB voucher went to waste this year as Big Bazaar as gone to 🫠

If I apply for a new card, the existing shitty limit will be split;

Everyday I’m getting an SMS notification to get Simply Click card. Should I go ahead and apply? As there’s still no notification about renewing my existing FBB card.

@Samuel That's right...if you get a card from a bank and apply for another one or even a 3rd one, they all share the same credit limit. It's like having dependent cards issued to someone in your family...they too share the limit in your card account. And no, the savings has nothing to do with it as SBI cards is a separate company. Your relationship with SBI may entitle you to a card and enhanced limits but its at the discretion of the bank.

Also, spending limit increases are decided on multiple factors including credit history, cibil score, income etc, so there's no hard and fast criteria for setting it.

Please comment on the expiration date (01/2023) of the existing card, and no notification from SBI on the renewal of the same. 🥲

Dont worry dude, they'll send you a replacement in advance till then use the old card. And once the new card arrives (same card # but different CVV and exp. date) start using that. I have several cards from different major and mid sized Indian and Intl. banks incl. 2 from SBI. They all follow the same policy. Remember your old card is valid till 31/1/23 so you'll get a replacement card by then

Thank you for the confirmation.

Big Bazaar isn’t functional any longer. I wonder what coupons they’re going to offer now.
