Students in Haryana to be taught strict 'Indian' routine - The Times of India

School students in Haryana might soon be taught to follow a strict "Indian" routine, which includes starting the day with Saraswati Vandana, feeding a cow every morning, doing havan and winding up the day by playing songs produced by Vidya Bharti.

The Haryana government is reportedly planning to introduce textbooks for class VII to XII on "moral education", written by Dinanath Batra, convenor of the RSS Shiksha Bachao Andolan Samiti, in a bid to inculcate values among children.

When contacted, state education minister Ram Bilas Sharma told TOI that a new education policy is being prepared at the national level, which will lay emphasis on intellectual, mental, spiritual and physical development of children and provide better environment in government schools.
