SD Channel quality on HD STB

1. Will the picture quality of SD channels improve on HD Set Top Box, just because of HDMI connection or what?
2. What and how can one get maximum signal strength and quality on set top box. Does it depend on Dish placement position or on atmospheric conditions?

Yes the audio and video quality of SD channels wid HD STB.Yes, it totally depends on the Dish position placement as well as atmospheric conditions. Like in rainy season you signal strength will go down in every dth.... If you really wanna enjoy HD experience go with Airtel HD..

1. No. That's why there are different channels for HD. Changing to a HD-STB does not make a difference to SD channel quality.

Have you yourself noticed/experienced the change after switching from SD STB to HD STB ? because once Sony Engineer told me that due to HDMI connection, quality does improve. I want to know by how much.

Yes ! It does improve a bit, since the STB upscales SD content to suit bigger TV's !
