security of wi fi bbnd usage with siemens SL2-141

Hi how can i ensure security ( avoid misuse of my bbnd connection when in use ) of my siemens SL 2 141 modem based wi fi connection while being used in wi fi mode with my laptop since i believe anyone else can jump in.

1Make a security code !
Type against WPA Pre Shared key -a key , for example say 12345678

follow the procedure as given by @essbebe and dont forget to change the modem's default password,disable ssid broadcast,disable dhcp (use static ip),or apply mac based access (if you are bound to use dhcp, reduce the dhcp ip pool to no of ip you need.)
