@maverick27 i cant change NAT type...it was in another device...it should be OPEN for some games(multiplayer).

and the gateway thing...they said they can't do it...coz it will affect their entire network architecture...and they already have different Gateways for voice and internet

@JB701 any inputs from you?

Seems like he has a problem similar to what you and i had discussed earlier. His default gateway and the assigned public IP are on entirely different subnets. This is not common, right? I think that is what is causing the issue.

Remember, i too faced issues when the voice gateway became the default gateway for internet too. But he doesn't have a voice profile configured.

IP Prefixes can be larger than /24.

192.168.1.0/24 is for example 192.168.1.0-192.168.1.255

However, ISPs can use larger IP Blocks for instance 192.168.1.0/22 is 192.168.0.1 - 192.168.3.254 . This however is same subnet (just a larger block of IPs).

So, default gateway and public IP don't have to be on same 'range'.

@JB701 The public ip is 117.x.x.x or 59.x.x.x, but the default gateway is 10.x.x.x. What you mentioned still holds?

Isn't the 10.x.x.x series private?

And if NAT is at play here, can the actual IP pointed to by the default gateway be found?

Ah thats different but I've read some threads on here about BSNL users getting public IP with with private gateway.
You could try tracert to see the route taken.

In my area J&K (Srinagar SSA) i also have same private 10. xxxx default gateway for internet they kinda upgraded this in January.
