Setting up a Linux LAN for the first time

Hi,We are a group of friends who are self-taught when it comes to Linux.We know the basics and would love to create a small Linux network/LAN as a learning process, which can have one pc as a server and the remaining ones as clients. We would love to set up different servers namely web server, print server, email server, file server and all other types of servers that are possible. We are in the process of collecting 4-5 old pcs with atleast 2 Ghz CPU, 1 GB RAM, 80 GB hard drive, DVD writer etc.What else do we need in terms of hardware and software? This is going to be a good learning experience for all of us. We just want to set up a Linux hobby group and would love to invite anyone who is a linux professional ie system admin, programmer etc. Please guide me as to how we can start. Thanks.
