You mentioned that you have your modem set up in bridge mode, then i don't believe the steps mentioned above will work.
If your modem is set in bridge mode then you need to set your router do the authentication.
Since you have DSL service, you will need to set your router to authenticate in PPPoE.
In the router setup page, select INTERNET CONNECTION TYPE - PPPoE. You will need to enter your ISP username/password here.
HOWEVER IF YOUR MODEM IS NOT IN BRIDGE MODE..
Then the above steps apply.. ( step1 and step2)
About the wireless..i would say do the WPA-PSK(security) stuff only when you have made sure wireless is working without security.
There are lots of things you can do...but make sure basic things work.
