yes 10% extra units is added to the units consumed. also there are wheeling charges. and now the GREAT RINFRA has proposed a Cross subsidy surcharge for the TPC switchover customers who consume more than 300 units.

this will make the TPC bill at par with the RINFRA bill.

Reliance wants to squeeze people in every possible way.

I don't trust tata that much, bcause this brand has setup a inferior quality products. But if any1 using tata power, have u faced any overloads??or any other problems??

boss, do u know that Tata has been the generator of power since last 100 years and it has the cheapest rates.

ask the people who are the original TPC consumers. they get half bills than what Rinfra consumers pay.

dont just blindly support Reliance coz its the biggest cheater when it comes to power supply in mumbai.

and when u switch over to TPC - only the billing cycle and meter will be of Tata power. the power will be supplied by reliance and for that only they charge 10% extra + wheeling charges.

u can check with the calculator which was given in the earlier post. if u consume less than 300 units the savings would be 20-30%. however now Reliance has proposed a cross subsidy surcharge for changeover consumers who consume more than 300 units. if that is passed then it could affect the savings.

also Reliance license is expiring in August 2011. 8 companies and reliance have filed a application for distribution of power to suburbs of mumbai. lets hope we get a good power supplier than reliance with less tariffs.

ie coz the energy charges are lower than the biggest cheat in mumbai - Reliance.

But wait, now the greedy Reliance has filed a petition for taking cross subsidy charges from switchover consumers above 300 units. If that is passed then the TPC bill might be at Par with Rinfra. This will be applicable for units consumed above 300.

I live in a high-rise since 2003 and my building electricity meter has a RJ11 jack(similar to a phone line). The meter at particular time everyday transmit reading to a centralised facility.Thats how the reading is collected in my co-operative society

if u have a single phase connection and cosume more than 500 units pm then u have to pay a Cross subs surcharge of 0.03 per unit. for other residential consumers CSS is nil as of now. even after this CSS u will save some amount. check the TPC website for the new tariff chart.
