Have him ship it via DHL (fastest and great service) and mark it as 'Gift' to avoid duties. Also, make sure that he declares its value as $200 or something around that. You could also get it shipped via USPS (cheap) but India Post manages the Indian part of shipment, if you are willing to take the risk.Also, I have noticed that you have a better chance of avoiding duties with USPS - India Post compared to all other carriers. Still, it could have been just me though.
