well buying a dual sim android smartphone would be a bad move considering there are no good models available.

spend the money on a good quality android smartphone and take the plunge.

ps. errm. why did you not use MNP to switch from Vodafone to MTNL?

----------

errm. if you are using wired tethering, i am not sure why the battery would run out considering the usb connection would charge the phone simultaneously.

the problem would be overheating of the phone unit.

i got Joiku free on my e5 as a premium product download... in OVI free premium month...

As I said I am waiting for Dual SIM version of Motorola Fire XT. In some article they said they will launch Dual SIM version for Asian market where concept of Dual SIM is popular. So I suppose thats the hint as India. Now that they have launched single SIM version, hopefully Dual SIM is not far. I can wait 2-3 more weeks!

hehe, I wanted MTNL 25Rs scheme...where they were giving 91Rs free talk time one time

Plus 250MB 3G internet, 25 voice calls, 25 video calls, 250 SMS... all these every month for 3 months!!

And you already know how MNP works!! It doesnt work!! So dont want to take risk.

yes, that shud not be problem.

Btw Samsung B7772 does not support tethering i.e. u cant connect it to PC

I find carrying one mobile as burden and u r suggesting me to carry two?? :D
Your problem is same as mine. I have Nokia N95 (very very big phone) with Vodafone. I want to get sim with good talktime offers (like Aircel/Docomo) and also want to keep my Vodafone for 3G browsing. But I dont want to part away with my N95 as it comes handy for its 5 MP camera and MP3 player :)
So I have maintained Status Quo with N95 + Vodafone 3G (as I don't make voice calls anyway so continue using Vodafone though its costlier).

I have tried Joiku on N8 and works perfect but mobile gets heated and after one hr or more , mobile gets heated. So I avoid using Joiku nw.@ amish: If you are planning to use MTNL mostly for data and going to opt for higher data plans, then go for USB Stick, else Mobile. Bcoz while continuous using mobile for data, battery draining issue will happen. So sudden drain and recharge will ultimately weaken life of the battery.

No I want to make MTNL my primary number. So once I start giving this new number to everyone, I will have to make sure that calls are reachable!

Ohh !!! Then Thread Title sud be changed and all need to be suggesting you only regarding Mobile ;)

Hehe, no.. over past few days.. my mind has kept changing. But not much primarily. TItle is correct. If I dont find Dual SIM 3G mobile then eventually I wud have to buy USB stick.MTNL gives all in one solution for calls as well as internet.Vodafone is old number so many people have it.I bought new card for many reasons:1) Vodafone stopped 4Rs 30MB plan (this is why I didnt use MNP when MNP was launched)2) I shud be able to make calls when internet is working.. which is not possible with single SIM3) MTNL launched 25Rs scheme.. which tempted me!So all mixed up.Was looking for mobile because this Nokia N70 is now 4yr old.. It is sufficient currently but with some limitations, as I mentioned in my first post.Overall I still have 15-20 days before I make final decision on if USB or Mobile!

stick will cost u 1500 to 1700 e173...better buy it as backup..as if u run out of battery on ur cell u wont be able to make any calls :P

Hehe, I can afford 1500 plus 8000 but I wont be able to afford 13000 plus 1500!! :D
