well if you feel as a consumer the company cheated you, you can surely go to consumer court. but i am pretty sure... you really cannot prove that sify is responsible for your PC damage. here is a guy you can contact:

well i have also experienced sparks coming out of my land card where the light blinks on the land card whenever there is a storm or even if the wind is blowing hardand one day i was away and a storm came with my computer on when i came back i smelled some strange smell and saw that on my computer only hard disk light was on no power light though my system was on , I turned on my monitor it won't even start just kept blinking like in power save modewell i just turned off my ups then i unplugged that dam cable wire from my lan card and i even got a shock from it.then i just prayed and turned my comp on again and it was fine and working ok. I was lucky that my system didn't burn upbut from that day onwards i never leave my system up and go away i always shut my system whenever i am not there, Earlier i used to let it serve on irc but not now.And the hillarious part is that i complained numerous times to my CTO abt this but he says that is immpossible. So what have we learned from this children "that in sify anything is possible it can even burn ur precious system "when i am gonna leave sify i am gonna plug his cable into 220 V mains and fry his routers and other peoples computers ha ha ha that should teach him a lesson
