Sorry People I have gone through the other threads regarding Sify Client installation in Ubuntu Ibex . But when i tried it myself i am getting strange errors . Now i am very confused and dunno what to do
I am a new Ubuntu user [n00bUbuntu ]so would appreciate some help .....
Here is what i did
I was trying to install using the client that Sify Provides
gunzip sify_bbclient-3.0.tar.gz tar -xvf sify_bbclient-3.0.tar
Extracted the contents to folder desktop
cd Desktop/sify
sudo ./install.sh
// Entered requested password and got in as root
Sify BroadBand Client has been successfully installed
sudo ln -s /usr/lib/libssl.so.0.9.8 /usr/lib/libssl.so.4
sudo ln -s /usr/lib/libcrypto.so.0.9.8 /usr/lib/libcrypto.so.4
sudo sifyconnect
Checking reachability of Sify Server ... : Failed
Unable to reach Sify Access Manager, Contact Customer Care ...
I want to contact customer care only as a last resort ......
Also i noticed that Ubuntu disconnects Sify Lan as soon as i login
-->I tried Logging into Sify in XP and restarting without logging out and booting Ubuntu .....Ubuntu simply disconnected Sify Lan
I also executed
sudo pppoeconfig
It showed me 2 options
eth0
and the other one i forgot
It asked me 2 options Yes and No
I chose Yes
and it tried configuring the 2 cards [i guess] and finally said that it was unsuccesfull in whatever it was trying to do
