what are you guys talking about?sigma broadband is not fake.i am on their 1mbps unlimited plan.service was launched recently.many of my neighbours also have taken their connection.my whole flat is full of their connections in just few days because of their such low tarrifs.i am now getting 45KB/sec max download speed on my 1mbps plan speed has dropped drastically.and upload speed 2-4KB/SEC.most of the users in my flat are on their 128kbps and 256kbps unlimited plans.they are getting MAX 20KB/SEC DL.rahul my friend has taken their 4mbps 550 plan with 2.9GB limit.he is getting 400-900kbps on average and during unlimited hours 200-512kbps MAX.on 2mbps unlimited plan i have heard users are getting 100-140KB/SEC DOWNLOAD SPEED.i have also heard 8mbps unlimited is giving only 512kbps on average.my cable operator told me that it will be resolved soon.

ur post is from primus. his post is from bsnl... i am confused.

yesterday in my local area in west bengal a isp named sigma broadband was launched.my local cable operator gave a bouqet with the daily newspaper.yesterday i applied for that connection.i applied for their 1mbps unlimited plan which costs Rs1500 per month.today i got my connection in working condition.my cable operator's executive told me that they have no customer care support centre yet if any problem occurs i can call him.the download speeds i am receiving is much lower than the promised but its awesome.i am receiving 65-90KB/SEC download speed and 20-40KB/SEC upload speed.their speed is not constant but very good than other isps at this price.my neighbour has taken their 256kbps unlimited pack he is getting 20-24KB/SEC download speed and 8-10KB/SEC upload speed.i hope they improve their speeds to a constant soon.

umm why is your post made from a bsnl connection?

i think sigma is dataone broadband on cable

now i wonder...sigma bb is fake and those users are also fake!

even if bsnl was selling them bandwidthi am pretty sure that the ISPs needs to get theri original information in teh whois detailslike the webmasters email id and stuff for abuse complaints.

and why wud bsnl sell them bandwidth? so that they create competition to them by providing cheaper bb?

umm reselling bandwidth is a highly profitable business.telecom companies in US rent their mobile networks which allow smaller companies to provide specialised services. bsnl and mtnl could gain a lot by renting out their network for a good amount of money.

Or maybe , bribe some BSNL/MTNL babus, get 256 kbps UL connections upgraded to 2mbps, get 10 such accounts, then start a LAN based ISP,U pay around 10,000 pm for a 20mbps UL connection, thats a huge bandwidth which u can use for a LAN based local ISP
