I hope this doesn't end up going the winget road. MS copied the code from for winget from some developer without telling him and the dev stopped working on his project.

Okay. Nope. It is extremely slow. Probably coz it's an electron app. In his defense, it was probably easier to support multiple OS, but from a user's point of view...definitely nope.

i couldn't even find a way to open a new tab.

Ctrl+T also works but only if you have a directory selected or if you are inside an existing one.
