These were for smaller sized packages, so may not necessarily apply for you.

For normal international mail, it gets handed over to IndiaPost, and you pay the duty if any to the postman at the time of delivery. This way you'd know the duty amount only when the item reaches your local post office and the postman calls/arrives for delivery. There is no tracking unfortunately for the customs duty part.

@MrGordon Thanks for the info, really appreciate it. Should I be worried bout getting overcharged with Custom duty as I am getting delivered by India Post?

AFAIK, This is only for stuff like LTE Boosters or blockers both of which are illegal for many years now.

With YANWEN, I doubt you'll have to pay any customs. I hope you asked the seller to undervalue.

@minuteman As ishanjain28 said, these restrictions are only on equipment that boosts signal. CPE (Customer premises equipment) are allowed in India. Also this router is ODU with Ethernet cable that I can just plug into the another router

D-Link has some high quality SIM-based routers. I have been using it from quite sometime.
There are others with lower prices, china made ones. I remember a friend using it, it works too.

@MrGordon I'm talking about this one. Which seems to be good enough, though i am not using it now because i have Full-fledged Fiber Lines now. This was used when i was having lot of unused data on my Airtel Postpaid SIMs.

It is now not available on Amazon. So, let me check on Google and send you if i find a suitable link.

Edit: Here's the link D-Link DWR 920V Router from brand website. I don't think this is available now in India (not sure).
