Sim based Router recommendation for 5G cellular network

@Kauban - No sorry I already sold it off since it wasn't getting used. I don't see why it won't work with jio. It supported most bands from what I could see

@dexter22 This is not a restricted product. And customs will not seize it for unspecified reasons.

Packages via express courier you can track each stage of customs clearance, it’s all public information.

What are the advantages of using third party equipment? Wouldn't it make more sense to wait for Jio/Airtel AirFiber? It would get better signal strength as well thanks to outdoor antenna...

First advantage would be, we don't have to wait for the release of Jio/Airtel AirFiber (It took them ages to just launch 5G). Second and most important would be there will not be any restrictions (sw/hw/network) in third party equipment.

@dexter22 Last I checked, you will not be able to place an order from AliExpress with shipping address in India. You can reach out to sellers on Alibaba, it won't be click and buy, you will need to chat with the sellers and get an order created.

Okay so I ordered ZTE Outdoor Router MC7010 from ebay. Seller shipped my order with YANWEN. There wasn't any FedEx or DHL or any other good shipping option. Has anyone here shipped through YANWEN? How was the experience with custom and delivery?

@dexter22 Yanwen varies a lot. It’s essentially a slow mode option. Sometimes it gets sent via regular registered international mail from some country (not necessarily China), after which it would get customcleared as per regular international mail.

Sometimes it comes to Delhi via some unknown way (some shady channel I think 😅) the package then gets resent by local courier, Delhivery mostly. In this way so far I’ve not had to pay any duty.

Anyway normally I’ve seen it take 2-3 weeks (sometimes more too)

@MrGordon Dude that's just awesome. I hope I don't have to pay any duty. I've already paid 33k just for router

after which it would get custom cleared as per regular international mail.

How exactly this process works? Do I get email to pay the customs or something else?
