after going through the posts in this forum, i have decided to take a tataindicom. preferably 128 kpbs line.. the rates are quite high.. but hopefully they will slash the prices further. im thinking of a post paid connection (unlimited)..i stay in vashi). which would be better - prepaid or post paid? i believe rate wise both are same.

You'll have to check out the pros and cons. From what i know...Postpaid: if you have a cheque-book, you can drop off a cheque for the amount at an icici atmprepaid: you have to have a dealer nearby who sells you those prepaid cards

Yup they took away the modem.

what abt the cable? Did they put up a new cable or retained the old one?

Max.. Really i did not have any trouble with tataindicom. They did call me within a day to inform me that they do not provide broadband service in my area (Not YEt).. !!!!! So i have very few choices left and have taken up an iqara connection (256 kpbs 1gb limit for a month) as many others in my area.. and seems like the connection is stable. well.. that is a risk i need to take and find out. :)
