BSNL HOME UL 900
Hi, I have BSNL Home UL 900 plan. I have connected two PCs on the LAN.Modem - SmartAX MT882(Huawei). I have assigned IP addresses to both of them. COMP1 - This connects to modem directly.Hardware configuration is as follows:1. Windows XP 2. LAN Card - Intel on-board.3. Lan Card - Reatek - to connect to COMP24. IP - 192.168.0.1 COMP2- This connects to internet through AnalogX proxy.Hardware configuration is as follows:1. Windows XP 2. LAN Card - Intel on-board.3. IP - 192.168.0.2 I have set up small home network with COMP1 connecting directly to internet and COMP2 connecting through PROXY running on COMP1. Both the PCs can talk to each other w/o any problems as far as sharing is concerned. Problem comes when I access internet. When I connect, I can access internet on both PCs for first few minutes, but after some time ACT (action) LED starts glowing continuously (indicating heavy traffic) and connection becomes slow. COMP1 can still access internet, but COMP2 can't. ACT LED keeps glowing even though I am not accessing anything. I have formatted both the PCs and setup the network again, but problem still persists. I do have antivirus/antispyware software installed on both the PCs. Actually everything was working fine with some windows XP version that my vendor gave me (I dont remember which one) and then it stopped working one fine day and I installed new XP version when I formatted the PCs. I would really appreciate if anyone can help. Let me know if you need more details to solve the issue. Thanks,Amit

Welcome to Broadbandforum.in.
Sorry no one responded so far.
I don't know how I missed your post.
Usually I post some comments useful or not !
Try the USB port for second desktop. or Use a "LAN splitter" for both computers. cost around Rs 50 to Rs 100. (details posted in MTNL forum)
( just like the telephone parallel connection type)

Thanks for replying.

Actually I installed another proxy called ezProxy from Lava software and right now everything is working fine. Earlier I was using AnalogX proxy.

About LAN spiltter you mean to say that I should connect the LAN splitter to modem and both PCs should connect to LAN splitter, right? In that case no need of Proxy, right?

Thanks,
Amit

ABout LAN Splitter being available in Pune, I will need to inquire. I will try other browsers if I face the problem again.

Thanks,
Amit
