2 days ago I upgraded my 200mbps plan to 1gbps but I am getting proper speeds only on speed test servers (i.e. 940mbps) and not in actual downloads (70-80MBPS)

I talked with the backend technical team and they are saying everything is fine on their end

does anyone know why this is happening?

how much speed are you getting while downloading games from steam? Does it hit 70-80 MB/s mark?

Maybe your system itself is not able to keep up with the speeds? Working alone on 1G, unless its enterprise powerhouse, is a tough one.

wth even my location is showing from Germany

idk what is going on

@Lolita_Magnum i am using cat6 cable and my system also support 2.5gbe lan

well i am able to get 1gbps on speedtest but not on download

something is really messed up on airtel side

they don't even acknowledge my issues

I got my 1gbps upgrade after 10 days of delay

@SpeedxThunder Sorry, my query was for something else and nothing to do with your query. I'm also using 1G plan and recently they moved me to CGNAT. When i asked them to move to dynamic profile, they said everyone in bangalore now moved to CGNAT and suggesting me to take Static IP. I do not want to pay additional 236 for this unnecessarily.

So was checking whether you get public ip or not in your PPPOE profile.

@SpeedxThunder are you mixing up the difference between mbps and MBps ? Former is speed in bits and latter is in bytes. So your download of 80 MBps is roughly nearly 700 mbps actually which is reasonable.

Just open windows task manager and observe the actual speed there while you are doing speedtest and actual download?
