Friend is looking to buy one. Primary requirements are whatsapp and mail. He seems to be inclined towards canvas2 and xperia e. I suggested lumia 520.What say peeps?Brick-and-mortar only.

Whatsapp in WP is full of bugs, I am on Win 7.8, I am sure there wud the same in Win Phone 8 as well.
A new update will be rolled out in coming days which will resolve most of the issues

did you bother to search for phones in http://swappa.com/ they got a huge range.
i will register soon. my friend yesterday told me to register and start selling, since he likes my stuffs, and he is a numbnut when it comes to IT. but he likes the sleek and slim and elegant UI i have for my linux OS for embedded and handheld devices especially wifi - routers with customised hardware and software mods and hardware mods and for phones with mostly massive software mods and few limited hardware mods (warranty issue mostly since phones are costly, i generally dont hardware mod phones).
try it. many of my friends use swappa, you might wish to give it a shot. and see how it goes. i might sell my domo slate x3g se 7 inch plablet with major massive hardware and software mods. i will update later on this.

p.s. after too much mod and man hours spent the domo slate even though its only 8998 INR i will have to jack up the price. i am planning to hack the bootloader and install the sleek and elegant. e17 and intone. well my n900 was the hot fav neither with meego nor with maemo but with debian sid and e17 and intone. well anyway let me get away past the bootloader. enough of talks work time.
