So, is it safe to charge a smartphone with a tablet charger?

the tablet charger charges the phone much faster compared to the smartphone charger. that's understandable. but i am noticing that the phone sometimes fails to charge from the computer usb port :\ am i hurting the battery on the phone by charging it too fast using the tablet charger?

on every charger there are voltage specifications printed. if the voltage is significantly higher than what your phone requires it can damage the phone battery

I use the nexus 7 charger to charge my one x. haven't noticed any erratic behavior till now.

says the Galaxy Nexus comes with only a 700 mA charger, not even 1000 mA as is standard with most phones, I guess that it why you are observing a difference in the charging speed.

right. it seems to work fine otherwise. was just wondering if i am not damaging the battery at a faster rate. i usually stick to usb charger. but sometimes when i have to go out, i end up using the n7 charger.
