My Sharp inverter AC has a bad leak in the cooling coil. So it's time to get a new one. Many users have mentioned that Voltas is a good buy considering the 5 years warranty. Kindly suggest some models?

Solution

Looks like they have changed the extended warranty thing. Now you need to pay 2990 for it, however you get 10 services as well (I think?) so still a good deal

my parents have used Samsung, LG, Daikin, Sharp, Hitachi split acs at different points of time. None of them lasted more than 4-5 years. I guess it might be area specific as well since the issue almost always was gas leakage

Voltas and Carrier have both worked fine
on their website they have mentioned upto 60% discount. So is that a fud?

I dont think this scheme is worth it considering you are giving your old ac too. you can possibly sell your old ac at a good price + you may also get a good discount from normal means of purchasing.

Actually this is a pretty great scheme. The Ac should be "working" but they never check if its working or not. Both the AC's that I replaced were not working and spending any more money on them would have been waste. The discounts are pretty good too.

Also while replacing the old ac, they break it infront of you in such a way that it cannot be repaired.

Wouldn't it be a loss of any usable component which can be beneficial if recycled properly gets destroyed?

More importantly, when you get it, do ensure the installation team does their job properly and not some shabby work.

This AC installation would require more material and is going to fall out of standard installation charges which is Rs. 999.

If I arrange the required material myself, would they use it or am I bound to pay for the overpriced material they're going to use for installation?
