Some good mobile internet packs?

I have a Samsung Galaxy S Duos which I use for browsing the Internet. Which internet plan for mobile would be best for me? I currently have the Airtel 2G plan and the speed is only 10 KB/s and the connection gets disconnected several times while browsing. The disconnections did not happen when I was using their 3G plan. Is there a problem with my mobile? Which plan should I go for?
Also, why does the notification bar in my phone always show 3G, even though I'm using 2G pack?

Okay so I found out that Airtel offers two modes: 2G and 3G mode. I had a 2G data pack but 3G mode was enabled, that's why the status bar was displaying 3G. I disabled 3G mode and now it's displaying 'E' for EDGE. But there's no difference in the speed. Why?

If you have 2G pack in effect,always use "2G only" model. You will get full EDBE speeds (up to 20-30 kBps) .You try to use 3G mode ,they will throttle you at 80 kbps though it will show 3G signal.

Your phone is fine, issue is with the service provider.
You can get Rs 249 3G data pack that provides you 1 GB data with the validity of 30 days.
Data transfer rate would be better than what you are getting on the current data pack.

Hey I am Airtel 2G user and I do not find any problem like this. Airtel provide good internet speed but a little costlier.

If you are a light user... Get the Rs. 150 plan. 500MB on 3G and 500MB on EDGE. Works well for me personally.

There is nothing gud in Airtel when it comes to Mobile Internet with their costly sh*t packs.
