Does it work with a smaller lan cable? If yes, its likely the cable itself is at fault. Do you have different switch or appliance to test this on, which does not involve the ZTE router itself.
With old cable in question connected, if you are comfortable, just try running Live Linux off bootable USB on your PC/laptop wired to router and check what speed it reports thru Linux.
What all types of cables in all u have tried Cat5e, 6 7 etc?
Also while they are not ready to replace router, ask them to test it out with another router just as a standalone device without actually connecting to fiber line. We just need it's gigabit port to test. It's PON and LOS will keep on blinking indicating loss of line but if it's LAN port gives 1 Gbps in connection Status then something is wrong in existing router be it hw/fw etc.
Since the issue suddenly started it points to something faulty in the router.
