Finally I have got my 2 Mbps speed back.

Dude something to cheer!:)even Daredevils won the match today lol:P:P

What you can do in such a case is.

1 Call 1504 - and tell them to give you ticket number for the concern "You need a speed increase"

2. Send an email to [email protected] stating this ticket number and requesting them to restore your download speed as per your dowload plan.

This will solve your concern.

I has happend with me a lot many times and this method works for me.

Good for you that it worked, I know MTNL's service is very good but the biggest negative of MTNL is, when something goes wrong, there's nobody to listen to you. If only they could get a 'real' 'working' Customer Care team.

Some methods which work for me all the time.

For line faults

Call 1504 (option 1) and get your complaint number. Don't get frustrated with them. They're just there to forward your complaint. SNR Ratios and Line Attenuation, KBps or kbps mean nothing to them.

Dial 2xxx2198
xxx is YOUR exchange prefix.
MTNL Customer Care

Or else you can register it online here MTNL MUMBAI :: COMPLAINT ONLINE

Make a note of your complaint number. Can't speak for all of MTNL, but the exchange in Borivli have been very quick to respond each time.

For Broadband complaints

1504 (option 3) for online help with a tech.
Again, your technical jargon or line speeds you see on your modem interface are meaningless to them.
Doesnt matter which Operating System, browser, or torrent client you use. All that they want to know is if your modem lights blink like they should, and if you are able to browse.

They will want you to do a speed test on this page. So giving them figures from other speed test websites is pointless.

My line speed had dropped from 2048kbps to 256kbps recently. Got it fixed by an online tech. However, my connection kept dropping. Got a linesman to replace some rusty cables at the telephone junction box. Everything is back to normal now.

@^^^

Good work dude....yes, u r right...there is no point in talking about the technical things to customer care, they r there just to give us the complaint number.

Hi! I am an MTNL Delhi user. I used to get a speed of 2mbps but it got reduced to 256kbps.
I called up at 1504 and told them my problem, the executive said that i should drop an email on [email protected] and he couldn't register my complaint as it was only an enquiry.
Next day i called em again for a follow up, some other executive told me that i am already getting the speed i am supposed to get and that the name of my plan is "TriB_Unlimited_256Kbps" I insisted that he registers my complaint and I got a complaint no. :(
I have already sent 10 emails to [email protected]
I don't know if anyone is even considering my complaint at the other end, what do i do? :wall:

I have a D-Link, DSL 502-T. All this happened when i was tryin to forward ports for azureus. I screwed up smwhr and resetted the modem using the tiny switch in the hole next to the 'power in' port. (Most ppl dnt knw abt this)
I had to reconfigure my router settings with the help of a person at 1504, and i am having this problem ever since. I wonder if this triggerd the speed drop, and if i can restore it.

Same thing happened to me.I am now getting download speed of 11 kbps from 220+-kbps earlier. When i complained about that they say that u have applied for 256 Unlimited connection and cannot be upgraded. Please tell me a good explaination for this to explain to CC.:(Thank You
