Speed reduced on 590 Night unlimited

I am using 59NU night unlimited plan. Since April I am getting speeds of only 256kbps. When i got this scheme in 2006 the advertised speed was 256kbps. However MTNL had upgraded it in 2007(I think) to 2 mbps. This speed (upto 2mbps) appeared on the tariff for closed plans on the website until recently. However they have updated the tariff on website on 13.05.2011. The link is here Broadband Closed Tariff Plans . So basically they have reduced the speed after 4 years all of a sudden. Does somebody have an screen shot of the old tariff? Need to show it to the people at prabhadevi exchange.. I am certain it was 2 mbps. I was not getting higher speeds by mistake!! Thanks

As long as I remember the speed for this plan has always been 256kbps. It might have been some glitch on MTNL's side that you were getting more speeds. I myself was on that plan earlier but changed as the speeds were restricted to 256kbps and were not upto 2mbps.

You are right the speed was 256kbps.. however it was upgraded later on . ... I find it weird that MTNL changed a closed plan. Anyway I have made an application for change of plan to unlimited 888. So waiting for better speeds now..
