In light of the recent spot-fixing and betting scandal in the Indian Premier League, the Board of Control for Cricket in India's (BCCI) brand value has taken a serious hit, with Star India Pvt. Ltd. and ESPN Software India Pvt. Ltd. bagging the title rights for home series at Rs 2 crore per game, which is Rs. 1.3 crore less than what its predecessor Airtel used to pay. The contract, which runs until March 2014, was stamped at the meeting of BCCI's Marketing Committee earlier on Thursday, after which the board sent out a press release accepting Star-ESPN's bid for title sponsorship of all international series and domestic tournaments to be played in India in the 2013-14 season.
