so i barely managed to finish Star Trek: The Original Series this week. slept through most of the episodes. so it was time to start catching up with the movies. this was the first one on the list and apparently the reviews and interviews were true. this movie seems to be focused more on cgi than on story and characters which is very unlike star trek. i guess since they got access to a good budget for the first time ever, they just went all in with the flash and bang. the result was that there are extended scenes where nothing happens as you get to stare through cgi generated enterprise and the entity. it gets insane. here is an imdb review which kind of expresses my feeling about this movie...
