@Notorious What does the Phonebanking folks say about the reason for denial? Maybe try from a different branch.
The other day I went to a branch to create a new account under my wife's salary account as a family account. I already have an HDFC account created around 15 years back which is a No Frills / Basics Savings account (BSBDA account) and has some weird transaction limits. If I make a card payment through that account above 50k or so, they will call me and ask why.
So I thought will open a new account and submitted the formalities online and got a reference number. One weirdness is that, if you already have a customer id, then online process will not create an account, and one must visit a branch to proceed. Anyway I went to the nearest branch and the lady there is like no we can't process this request as apparently you can have only a single savings account. I said, okay, then upgrade the existing account to the variant I requested for. That's not possible either apparently. Spoke to the manager who is least interested and redirected me back to the first lady and said she will help me. Then the first lady said upgrade is not possible, online application is useless, and only thing that can be done is submit an offline application for a new account. I was like fine, whatever your process is do that. Then she says I need to give an account opening cheque, I don't walk around carrying a cheque leaf and nowhere it was mentioned a cheque leaf was needed. Mind you, I already have an active HDFC account with all paperwork and details matching and still they need a cheque leaf. Walked out of that branch.
Then another day on an errand, noticed another HDFC branch which seemed much more active. Walked in and the lady there was like, no worries, we can take a request to upgrade your existing account, just need to fill some forms. The request was taken right away (it's still pending though, but I did get an email with a reference number, hopefully its done soon)
@mikrotik Okay, yeah I guess I just need to upgrade myself to Preferred relationship variant so that I can request for an upgrade to Infinia through the RM
Or should I just send a card upgrade form with income docs directly to their Chennai processing center?
Anybody here who got upgraded to Infinia recently?
