It's not due to "clamping down" it's just the fact that GPON bandwidth is shared. Even though it has gigabit in its name it's not ideal to use GPON for gigabit connections. The lastmile can get saturated. XGS-PON should be used ideally

There are 20 boxes within 200 meter radius in my area and all are full of connections. So if i opt for speed greater than 200 mbps I don’t get full speed due to saturation.

so 200 mbps plan is the one that gives me full speed

sooner or later we all are going to get not so fast speeds due to bandwidth saturation when all fatboxes become more than half filled. 2.4Gb/s has to be shared among 128 users.

how do you check on which gateway you are on ?

Is this OK ? is it AP, are the ping speeds fine ?

2nd one is your gateway. It belongs to Andhra Pradesh.

I get a new connection with router. Just talked with customer care executives they told that for static ip u need postpaid connection but postpaid isn't available in my state so i'll have to apply for 'Airtel Black' .

And this is mine with a static IP..goes to the Mumbai GW and then onto NCR. Wonder why. Airtel's routing paths are amazing. What will I do about it? Nothing. Took me 6 months to resolve a false billing issue with my blood boiling over each time I spoke to those idiots. Besides, a few ms more on tracerts don't really make a difference.

tracert 8.8.8.8

Tracing route to dns.google [8.8.8.8]
over a maximum of 30 hops:

1 <1 ms <1 ms <1 ms 192.168.1.1
2 6 ms 6 ms 6 ms abts-mum-dynamic-255.63.169.122.airtelbroadband.in [122.169.63.255]
3 8 ms 6 ms 7 ms dsl-ncr-dynamic-093.88.16.125.airtelbroadband.in [125.16.88.93]
4 7 ms 7 ms 7 ms 182.79.239.125
5 8 ms 7 ms 7 ms 72.14.212.48
6 9 ms 7 ms 7 ms 216.239.47.175
7 8 ms 8 ms 7 ms 142.250.214.107
8 8 ms 6 ms 6 ms dns.google [8.8.8.8]

It doesn't go to NCR, just a wrong PTR. Based on the latency and geoip it's in mumbai. Mumbai to NCR will be atleast 30ms
