Last month I installed Airtel Xtreme fiber connection on my home. I paid total ₹3000 for six months 40Mbps speed. First one week I was getting good service. But after then, problems started. Speed suddenly dropped to 2-3 Mbps. I called customer care they restart the router and speed increased again. After one or two days same problem came. I call customer care again, they assigned a service engineer. The person came and didn’t find any issue then.

But the problem continuously came (sudden speed drop) after one or two days. It is very much irritating. I want to disconnect my Airtel fiber connection and want refund the remaining amount. Is it possible to get the remaining amount refund?

could be fault in the optical unit the thin yellow white or optical power is higher into the modem speed gets hit ask the engineer to use a optical power meter and check the optical power level in the line.

too high power will hit the speed my experience . based on facing this many times till they fixed power levels at back end.

Service engineer came and checked the connection. Didn’t find any power issue on optical fibre. The engineer said that, other subscribers also facing same problem from last few weeks. They are trying to solve it, but it may take time.

I decided to disconnect the connection. That’s why I called to Airtel customer care and placed service request. They said it could take 45 days ti disconnect the connection. 45 days !!! Seriously???

it takes 1 week( 7 working days) to disconnect, but to get the refund dd if any amount has been paid from your end takes 45 days as they will see if you want to reconnect back just mail to 121 and they would give you a disconnection request no net will stop working after that my experience. this was told by a airtel technician

if the area you stay problem then wait because i have same issue they took about 1 month they upgrading towers to 5g. ask them how much time to resolve

don't give up the connection then in a hurry wait till they upgrade the fiber back end i remember there was a server issue once in my area it took almost a month to fix now perfect maybe cables are being upgraded from main NOC centers to local server points.
