Last Saturday, my landline services were suspended all of a sudden on Saturday. When someone called landline, the message would be "the services have been suspended to this number".

Broadband was working. All bills were paid in time.

Today the guys from BSNL came, checked the cables and said you had not kept the receiver properly (not the case, double checked before their arrival) and hence the message. Had some argument with them about the validity of their diagnosis.

IMO, If the receiver was not kept properly, busy tone should have come.

Now, what would be the reason for such message?. Can anyone enlighten me?.

Yup, if the receiver is not kept properly the other party would just get a busy tone.

They're just trying to hide their goofup.

Thanks. Need bit more details.

What is the official timings of BSNL Exchanges ?. 10AM-6PM?. And is there any rule that complaints should not be directly made to their Twitter handle?.

Got teach a small lesson to them.

Yes, 10 to 6 is the official timing.

You can definitely make a complaint directly on their Twitter handle.

@Sai: I used to complain through self-care portal but I was once informed by CC executive that complaints must be registered with them through phone because online registration of complaints on Twitter or self-care portal don't reach exchange/appropriate authority in time.

I used to do that all the time and even I got a call from them telling me not to log complaint via the IVR or self care portal and call them instead. I assume this is their way of showing less number of complaints in their system. I still continue to log complaint via IVR.
