that's the thing. if you get a regular handset and you have a wireless router at your place, the speeds and the network quality would degrade massively.
@Vedant tried with a non-dect6 cordless recently. his network suffered even when landline was not in used.
not an expert on the field i bought a dect6 after reading about the frequency issue few years ago and my wireless network has been fine with it. i have no personal experience with non-dect6 phones as the last time i used one, i do not think i had an internet connection at home!
